Booking & Reservations
What's the best way to book a room?
Directly through this website or by calling (254) 675-8999. Booking direct guarantees our best available rate, no added fees, and a direct line to our team if plans change.
Why shouldn't I book through a third-party website?
Third-party platforms charge commissions that are often passed to you, may show inaccurate availability or outdated policies, and control the reservation if anything goes wrong — meaning we can't modify or fix it for you. Booking direct keeps you in control.
Can I modify or cancel my reservation?
Yes — the standard window is free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival (rate-specific terms shown at booking control if different). Call (254) 675-8999 to cancel or modify. Third-party reservations must be changed through that platform; we're unable to process them.
Check-In & Check-Out
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Need an early check-in or late check-out? Call ahead and we'll do our best based on availability.
Do you have a 24-hour front desk?
Yes — our front desk is staffed 24 hours a day for check-in, check-out, and anything that comes up during your stay. You can also call (254) 675-8999 anytime.
Rooms & Property
Are rooms non-smoking?
Yes. Velkommen Inn is a 100% non-smoking hotel — no smoking in guest rooms, hallways, the lobby, the breakfast area, or anywhere inside. Smoking is permitted outside only, at least 50 feet from the building. A $150 damage/cleaning fee applies if smoking occurs inside.
Is breakfast included?
Yes — complimentary continental breakfast is served daily from 6:00 to 9:00 AM.
Is parking free? What about EV charging?
Parking is free for all guests, including space for work vehicles. Level 2 EV charging is available for an additional fee.
Pets
Are pets allowed?
Dogs are allowed in designated dog-friendly rooms only, with advance approval — call before arrival so we can confirm a room. We accept dogs only (max 2 per room); other pets, including cats, aren't permitted. Pet fees apply — see the pet policy. Service animals are always welcome at no charge. Important: pet fees are collected only by Velkommen Inn at check-in — third-party booking sites and travel agents are not authorized to collect or quote our official pet fee.

Is Velkommen Inn the former Best Western in Clifton?
Yes — Velkommen Inn operates at the location formerly known as the Best Western in Clifton, Texas. The hotel is now independently owned and operated and is no longer affiliated with Best Western. Same convenient Highway 6 location at 1215 N Avenue G — now with our own name, honoring Clifton's Norwegian heritage. If you stayed with us before, velkommen back.
Do rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker?
Yes — every room at Velkommen Inn includes a mini refrigerator, microwave, and single-cup coffee maker, plus a flat-screen TV with DIRECTV and streaming apps, iron & ironing board, and hair dryer.
Where is Velkommen Inn located?
At 1215 N Avenue G, Clifton, TX 76634 — the county seat of Bosque County and the Norwegian Capital of Texas. We're minutes from downtown and an easy drive to Lake Whitney, Meridian State Park, and the historic Norse community.
